Species with 2‐center, 3‐electron (2c/3e?) σ bonds are of interest owing to their fascinating electronic structures and potential for interesting reactivity patterns. Report here is the synthesis and characterization of a pair of zerovalent (d9) trigonal pyramidal Rh and Ir complexes that feature 2c/3e? σ bonds to the Si atom of a tripodal tris(phosphine)silatrane ligand. X‐ray diffraction, continuous wave and pulse electron paramagnetic resonance, density‐functional theory calculations, and reactivity studies have been used to characterize these electronically distinctive compounds. The data available highlight a 2c/3e? bonding framework with a σ*‐SOMO of metal 4‐ or 5dz2 parentage that is partially stabilized by significant mixing with Si (3pz) and metal (5‐ or 6pz) orbitals. Metal‐ligand covalency thus buffers the expected destabilization of transition‐metal (TM)‐silyl σ*‐orbitals by d–p mixing, affording well‐characterized examples of TM–main group, and hence polar, 2c/3e? σ “half‐bonds”.  相似文献

The most basic function of synthetic microenvironments for tissue engineering is to act as a physical substrate for cell attachment, migration, and proliferation, similar to the natural cell environment. Functionalization of supramolecular materials with guest compounds that display the same recognition moieties is a common strategy to introduce biofunctionality. However, besides a robust interaction with the material, a certain level of dynamics needs to be conserved for an adaptive interface toward the living environment. A balance between robust material functionalization and dynamic cell interaction needs to be met. The detailed analysis hereof using a ureido‐pyrimidinone (UPy) poly(ethylene glycol) system in dilute and transient network regime is demonstrated. Monovalent and bivalent UPy‐functionalized guest molecules are designed and their interaction with UPy‐host fibers is evaluated. Analysis of guest interaction in the dilute state by microfluidics, and in the gel state, by fluorescence recovery after photobleaching and fluorescence resonance energy transfer is proven to be suitable to quantify the local and ensemble guest mobility. The results demonstrate that the interaction of bioactive moieties through supramolecular host–guest chemistry yields a dynamic system, which is stronger for divalent guests but risks unintended leakage in the case of functional monomeric units.  相似文献

Structured hybrid nanoparticles were synthesized via surface‐initiated atom transfer radical polymerization of MMA from ordered mesoporous silica (OMS) nanoparticles with various morphologies. The design of the OMS particles was adjusted to target either spherical core‐shell or cylindrical morphologies with a mean diameter below 400 nm. The polymer growth via ATRP from the silica surface was well‐controlled as demonstrated by the macromolecular characteristics of the grafted chains. Original hybrid multilayered nanoparticles composed of either a dense silica core or hollow core; an inner OMS shell showing radial orientation of the mesopores and an outer PMMA shell with controlled thickness were successfully prepared.

In this paper, I compare the use of the thermodynamic limit in the theory of phase transitions with the infinite-time limit in the explanation of equilibrium statistical mechanics. In the case of phase transitions, I will argue that the thermodynamic limit can be justified pragmatically since the limit behavior (i) also arises before we get to the limit and (ii) for values of N that are physically significant. However, I will contend that the justification of the infinite-time limit is less straightforward. In fact, I will point out that even in cases where one can recover the limit behavior for finite t, i.e. before we get to the limit, one cannot recover this behavior for realistic time scales. I will claim that this leads us to reconsider the role that the rate of convergence plays in the justification of infinite limits and calls for a revision of the so-called Butterfield’s principle.  相似文献

The adsorption behaviour of Cd onto the relative non-polar L-methionine was studied. To this end, L-met was immobilized on controlled pore glass (CPG), incorporated in a microcolumn and inserted in a flow injection system for Cd preconcentration from aqueous solutions. Binding constant of the system was calculated and it turned to be of 1.99, with sites capacity of n = 3.12. The ratio of Cd moles bound to L-met moles was calculated and it was 0.03:1 at pH 9.0. On-line breakthrough curves were used to study the effect of pH, analyte concentration and influent flow rate on Cd retention. A complementary pH study was added with a titration curve. Transient peak areas revealed that Cd stripping from the column occurred instantaneously. The system achieves an enrichment factor of 130, reaching a detection limit of 0.63 ng L− 1 when 10 mL of the solution were passed through the column. The method was successfully applied to Cd determination in the standard reference material (SRM), QC METAL LL2 metals in natural water, as a validation study.  相似文献

In this paper, hypotheses testing based on a corrected score function are considered. Five different testing statistics are proposed and their asymptotic distributions are investigated. It is shown that the statistics are asymptotically distributed according to the chisquare distribution or can be written as a linear combination of chisquare random variables with one degree of freedom. A small scale numerical Monte Carlo study is presented in order to compare the empirical size and power of the proposed tests. A comparative calibration example is used to illustrate the results obtained.  相似文献
